There is so much to see in Spain that one needs to spend couple of weeks so that he can visit at least some of the very important places of visit. As a matter of fact, the city of Toledo itself demands that the tourist spends a couple of days here so that he can visit some of the places of interest.
This city, located just near the famous province of Madrid has been influenced by the Moors, Romans and people of other civilizations. Like any other place in Spain, even Toledo is blessed by nature with most beautiful picturesque scenery. Uniqueness of Toledo is that it has large mountains, vast plain land, great rivers and a most beautiful countryside. Let us just visit some of the countryside and see how beautiful the place is:
Oropesa:
This village with about 2000 inhabitants boasts of some buildings which date back to the 16th century. As a matter of fact, Oropesa is the first medieval village which opened the first Parador hotel of Spain. Interestingly this hotel was established in a building which is believed to have been constructed in the 16th century. Since the construction of this hotel, Oropesa has attracted large number of visitors. The village has the most imposing natural beauty all round. Tourists consider this most ideal for a quiet holiday.
Lagartera:
If you are interested in craft works and want to beautify your house with embroidery works, just walk a distance of about two kilometers from Oropesa. You can even drive, of course. On reaching Lagartera you will find women sitting in Patios or on the street seriously engaged in embroidery works like aprons, curtains, bed sheets, table cloths or other materials made of cloth. The work is so inspiring that you will be certainly tempted to buy it.
Talavera de la Reina:
This is another place for great works of crafts. Just drive for about 76 kilometers from Toledo to the city of Talavera de la Reina. It is the home for great works of pottery, tiles, etc. Located on the banks of the great river Rajo, it is one of the largest cities of the province. To reach the city, you will have to cross a bridge which is believed to have been built in the 15th century. The bridge has 35 arches and it is a master piece of architectural work.
